The Origins

Follow the Knowing began as a blog in 2022 when Susan unexpectedly lost her husband, Satish. He passed away in his sleep at the age of 38 from an unusual heart attack. Writing became Susan’s way of processing her grief out loud. The blog quickly gained a following, and Susan realized it was having a far greater impact than she had ever intended.

When she asked readers what they valued most, the answer was clear: honest vulnerability. Each week, Susan shared stories about navigating everyday life with grief. Her transparency resonated deeply with readers — not just because of the emotional rawness, but also because of the wonder. Susan’s writing blended candid reflections on life with a deep curiosity, free from shame or judgment. This process of discernment not only helped her heal but also illuminated a path forward.

This experience sparked an idea. In today’s culture, few spaces hold room for this level of wisdom. Instead, we’ve become proficient at numbing our pain rather than healing our harm. But what if we could replicate this process of authentic transparency and open curiosity to make better decisions? What if, just maybe, the path to radical change begins with creating these spaces?

In 2023, Susan combined her 20 years of executive leadership experience with her lived experience and launched Follow the Knowing as a business. Today, Follow the Knowing is dedicated to creating spaces where individuals and organizations can discover and follow their knowing.

What is knowing?
Knowing is clarity. It’s that moment when everything clicks into place and the best path forward becomes clear. Following the knowing is the process of curious discernment that leads to certainty.

Susan still writes the blog. New posts are delivered every Tuesday morning, with a fresh theme explored each month. Meanwhile, Follow the Knowing has grown into a thriving business, helping organizations and individuals expand and refine their impact. The team excels at guiding companies toward innovative solutions for complex challenges, demonstrating a new way to approach business with wisdom and purpose.

At its core, Follow the Knowing is working toward a vision: a world that’s just a wee bit wiser.
